Advisor for Strategic Administrative Development and Economic Development (m/f/d)
The city of Wolmirstedt with its districts Elbeu, Farsleben, Glindenberg and Mose is located only a few kilometers north of the state capital Magdeburg between the Magdeburger Börde and Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide and belongs to the district Börde. Today, around 12,300 inhabitants live here in the corner between the Ohre and Elbe rivers. You can reach Wolmirstedt via the nearby A14/A2 freeways and subsequently via the B189 from Magdeburg or Stendal, or by train using the S-Bahn service close to the city.
To strengthen our administrative team, we are looking for you to fill a full-time position—initially for a two-year fixed-term contract—as soon as possible.
Advisor for Strategic Administrative Development and Economic Development (m/f/d)
with an average weekly work schedule of 39 hours, with the option of continued employment on a permanent basis. Compensation will be in pay grade 11 of the TVöD-VKA, subject to a pending job evaluation.
What tasks in particular await you?
Economic Development:
Maintaining relationships and staying in touch with companies in the region, with partners in the transportation and tourism sectors, as well as with organizations and government agencies that support economic development, research institutions, etc.;
Support for the establishment of commercial and retail locations;
Planning and organizing location marketing initiatives for the business location (participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, business meetings, and events organized by the Association of Municipalities and Cities; collaboration with the Federal Association of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses – Entrepreneurs Association of Germany e. V.);
Serving as the administrations point of contact for decisions regarding investment inquiries, and ensuring cooperation between business owners and decision-makers within the administration;
Participation in the creation of conceptual foundations for urban development and urban planning from the perspective of economic development;
Representation of municipal interests in supra-local planning;
Supporting the heads of specialized departments with strategic and organizational tasks;
Strategic Development of the City Administration:
Developing strategic concepts for the digitization of public administration and its management, in coordination with the relevant departments, and ensuring that objectives are met;
Conceptual and strategic development of voluntary services, as well as an assessment of their cost-effectiveness;
Establishing overarching goals and priorities within the administration;
Collaboration with policymakers and organizations;
Process and Project Management:
Responsibility for planning, management, controlling, and documentation of city projects;
Coordination with project participants;
Presentation of the projects to the political bodies;
Work on political bodies (participation in the city council and committees; responding to inquiries from political bodies).
What should you bring with you?
As a prerequisite:
Degree: Diploma in Public Administration, Certified Public Administration Specialist (AL II), Master of Business Administration with experience in public administration,
Alternatively, a business apprenticeship with at least three years of professional experience in administration and experience managing projects;
At least a Class B drivers license;
Practical PC skills in MS Office;
We wish:
Knowledge of administrative and budgetary law in the public sector (LHO LSA, KVG LSA, VwVfG LSA);
