This training in the form of the dual Bachelors degree course 'Municipal Administration Service - General Administration' lasts three years. It is divided into the academic study period at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration NRW, Duisburg, and the practical study period at the Kevelaer municipal administration in various training areas.

The training takes place in an employment relationship.

The dual study program includes the following content in particular:

Law with a focus on the law of statutory pension insurance, general and special administrative law, constitutional law, European law, fundamentals of private law,

Administrative sciences with a focus on administrative theory, information and communication technology,

Economics with a focus on public administration and public finance,

Social sciences with a focus on sociology, political science and social psychology.

As a Bachelor of Laws trained in general administration, you will make administrative decisions based on legal regulations, monitor compliance with legal regulations, process applications and advise citizens. In areas such as personnel administration, budgeting or procurement, for example, you will plan personnel requirements, draw up budgets or carry out tendering and award procedures. You work independently and as part of a team with the aim of effectively fulfilling the tasks of the service provider that is the city administration.

We are looking for people who are committed and willing to learn, who communicate positively and are open to new

ideas. We expect:

a school education entitling you to study at a university or a level of education recognized as equivalent (in particular general higher education entrance qualification or full entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences - the school part of the entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences alone is not sufficient) with a good grade point average

particularly good German language skills, especially good spelling and good oral and written expression

Good mathematical skills

a good general education and an interest in social issues

strong communication skills and a willingness to make contact

High motivation, willingness to perform and learn

an independent way of learning and working

Confident handling of information technology and current Office programs (especially Word, Excel)
