The Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB) has a vacancy for the following position:

Librarian musical authority records - reference number SLUB-2025-15

fulltime (40.0 hours/week) up to remuneration group TV-L E 10 for a limited period of 24 months.

The Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB) is one of the largest and most efficient academic libraries in Germany, with around 350 staff members. We are a major center for innovation and coordination within the German library system and serve as a vibrant social space for scholarly exchange.

The Department of Music and Audiovisual Media holds an extensive collection of manuscripts, both historical and modern prints, as well as more than 200,000 audiovisual media items. It carries out various digitization projects and is continuously expanding its digital services for academic research and music practice. Since January 2017, it has been a project partner in the Specialized Information Service for Musicology (Fachinformationsdienst Musikwissenschaft), where it is, among other things, responsible for the further development of the event database musiconn.performance.

YOUR TASKS:

Creation of authority records (for persons, corporate bodies, musical works, and places) in the Integrated Authority File (GND)

Data analysis and data cleansing

Data mapping to the musiconn.performance data model

Quality control

YOUR PROFILE

Minimum requirements:

A completed degree in Library and Information Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Strong analytical skills

Good German language skills, both written and spoken (at least B2 level), alternatively basic German language skills and very good English skills (at least C1)

High communication skills and a strong ability to work in a team

Preferred requirements:

Initial experience with working in the Integrated Authoity File (GND)

Basic knowledge of music history
