For the exhibition Silver Egg: The Eros of Media Art, we are looking for art and technology enthusiasts to support the operational supervision of an art installation in the exhibition space at ZKM Karlsruhe from June 3, 2026 to February 7, 2027.

With your help, we aim to make an AI-based scent installation accessible to visitors.

Possible working days are Wednesday through Sunday.

You will support us with:

Supervision of the installation, including basic care according to the user manual

Communication with the visitors

What to expect:

An exciting role in the center of the exhibition space

An opportunity to help shape a unique exhibition experience for visitors

Up to 20 working hours per week with shifts from 9:45am-2:15pm or 2pm-6:15pm

Compensation based on hourly rates, your skills and experience

On-site introduction and training by the artist

What to bring with you:

Strong social skills and enjoyment in working with people

Stress-resilience

Based in Karlsruhe

Confident conversational skills in German and English

Interest in media art

Technical skills

Experience in service-, tech-, and art-oriented fields

Ideally prior experience in facilitation, moderation, and interactive formats

Willingness to work on weekends

Minimum of 6-week engagement

Availability to attend a two-day training/operators onboarding in June 2026 at ZKM Karlsruhe.
